Meet Our Lead Educator & Owner
Tierra Rispress founded BusyBees with a singular mission: to provide toddlers with a space where they can grow through play and socialize in a way that respects their natural development. With over fifteen years in childcare she ensures every drop-in session is meaningful, child-led, and full of wonder. Tierra's heart for children and her commitment to quality care helps parents feel confident that their little ones are in the best possible hands. Tierra is an active mother of three little ones. She is passionate about providing an enriching environment for children. In looking for opportunities to socialize with other parents of young children in a family friendly setting, she noticed the lack of opportunities. She desired an enriching environment for parents and their children. After conversation with her sister, who was also postpartum and noticing the deficits in the community, Tierra decided to found The Busy Bees. The Busy Bees is a club for children and their caregivers. A place of compassion, community, and support.

-Sierra Johnson, MD
Dr. Johnson is a board certified psychiatrist who specializes in Perinatal Psychiatry. This means she is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental health disorders during pregnancy and postpartum. During her own postpartum journey, she noticed the lack of opportunities for parent-child bonding and to socialize with other parents of young children. She knew all too well the positive impact of community on the mental health of parents. This sparked her desire to bridge this gap and to collaborate with her sister, Tierra, to create a place that is both inviting and compassionate for parents and their young children.

Our Story: From Small Dreams to Busy Hives
BusyBees began with a simple mission: to nurture the natural curiosity of children through the beauty of exploratory play and provide parents and children with an active drop in childcare option. At Busy Bees we strive to provide a Montessori lead environment. We embrace and encourage different learning styles and respect each child's unique interests. We promote individual thinking and creativity in every class and every space. With a small class size, Busy Bees will ensure your child is consistently engaged, guided, and encouraged with warmth and attention. We believe that when children are empowered to explore in a safe, activity-driven environment, they don't just learn—they thrive. Our hive is a community where families grow together, building confidence and lifelong memories from the very first buzz.
